Orlando Pirates moved top of the table with a 6-0 win over 10-man TS Galaxy in their Betway Premiership clash at a packed Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Pirates came out the blocks with real vigour after Abdeslam Ouaddou made some notable changes to his starting line-up with Andre de Jong and Masindi Nemtajela brought in for Makhehleni Makhaula and Oswin Appollis respectively.

But it was Galaxy with the self-inflicted issues, with Oupa Motaung bringing down Tshepang Moremi just outside the area and receiving a straight red card inside the opening three minutes.
Relebohile Mofokeng stepped up with the resulting free-kick from just outside the area, curling the ball into the top right corner of Ira Tape’s net, for his sixth goal of the season, across all competitions.
Moremi made it 2-0 midway through the half, which Tape probably should have done better to keep out and shortly after Mlungisi Mbunjana prodded the ball past his own goalkeeper making it 3-0 for an all-round disastrous opening half of football for the Rockets.
Mofokeng made it 4-0 with his second of after afternoon ten minutes into the second half and at that point it appeared the foot was on the peddle for more in Nelspruit as they looked to add to their goal-difference in the fierce title-race with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Oswin Appollis – who replace Andre de Jong at the break, provided the assist as Mofokeng did the rest, with a dip of the shoulder to find space and slot the ball calmly past Tape.
The Bafana Bafana playmaker made a first career hattrick in the 68th minute with a finish from just outside the area that Tape flapped at as Pirates run riot.
Pirates are now one point ahead of Sundowns – albeit having played a game more, but more importantly, four goals ahead too.
