Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe admits that influential winger Thabang Matuludi has suffered another minor setback after they rushed him back from his injury.
Rise and Shine has been struggling lately to get results and saw themselves going seven matches without a win and dropped in the Betway Premiership.
The 3-1 win against Richards Bay at the weekend came in handy in their quest to finish in the top eight as they currently sitting in sixth place with 34 points.
Mohafe has had tough decisions to make with injuries affecting his season badly with the likes of Hlayisi Chauke, Douglas Mapfumo and Thabang Matuludi all out injured and possible for the rest of the season.
He explained that Matuludi was close to returning but things got worse, taking the blame in this stating that they rushed him to be back as they felt like they needed him more.

“On his rehab, I can say he went back again to square one because there were certain things he wasn’t supposed to do on the rehab, and I think as a club and coaches because we are longing for him, we rushed him to come back, and he is not entirely okay and it’s not only him whose not entirely okay,” Mohafe told the media.
“I think for him and the other players we just need to say maybe the season is over for them and we will see them next season because these long-term injuries it has affected us negatively.
“We were wishing and hoping that they will come back but we were so unfortunate.
“Not only him, the rest of these players but we just hope that God hear our prayers just to let them heal so that we can have the whole squad, and we can have a good headache in terms of selection.
“We will see what is there for us.”
