Mamelodi Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena has sent a confident message about their title race with Orlando Pirates.
Masandawana went five points clear of their challengers, with their 3-0 win over Polokwane City, with Pirates having a game in hand.
Sundowns moved to 64 points from 27 games after going 18 games unbeaten, with the Betway Premiership trophy being present at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.
After the final whistle, Man of the Match Mokoena was asked about the title race with Pirates and shared a confident message.
“We take it one game at a time, but it was nice to see the trophy today,” he said on SuperSport TV when asked about the title race.
“Of course, we’re playing to win it, we can’t be shy about that.”
Mokoena also praised the team for a well-rounded performance just four days after beating Rise and Shine away from home.
“It’s very good to be hear again, it’s the first one of the season,” he added.
“I think the team played very well. I think we started a little bit slow but we came back to the party and I think we deserve the result.”
