Orlando Pirates winger Tshepang Moremi has explained why they remained on the pitch during warm up of their second Soweto Derby clash last season against Kaizer Chiefs.

A scuffle broke up during warm-up of the sold-out encounter at FNB Stadium that had to be broken down by the police.

However, Amakhosi left the pitch and returned to their dressing room with Pirates players remaining on the pitch.

Moremi, 25, was speaking during Part 3 of the #BucsCamp docu-series episode on SuperSport where he revealed that it was a mentality thing why they were not affected by the scenes of the match that ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

“I think the incident that happened during the derby during warm-up I think it depends on how mentally strong one is,” said Moremi.

“Because we didn’t know why they were fighting, because we were busy warming up and then when we looked, we saw people fighting and pushing each other.

“But coach said we shouldn’t mind them but focus because no one even knew why they were fighting. It depends on how one is mentally if you let it get to your head or not.

“But then we didn’t entertain it that much.”
