Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was pleased with the performances of Ashley Du Preez, Sibongiseni ‘Ox’ Mthethwa and Pule Mmodi in their 2-1 win over Richards Bay on Wednesday.
Nabi brought in changes in the squad due to different reasons varying from injuries picked on international duty and suspensions.
Among the changes Brandon Petersen started in goals with Fiacre Ntwari injured, Given Msimango got to start following the suspension of Inacio Miguel, Ashley Du Preez replaced Ranga Chivaviro, with Edson Castillo side-lined with injury Sibongiseni “Ox” Mthethwa started and Pule Mmodi featured instead of Gaston Sirino the game in Polokwane.
Nabi said he was satisfied with the players efforts especially Du Preez who scored the winner against the Natal rich boys saying it will be good for his confidence while adding that Ox had an unbelievable game.

“It’s going to give him more confidence going forward. Ox, unbelievable performance. Mmodi he did his job very well but we believe that they can do better.”
The coach also admitted that the changes made in the second half were a result of the red card Amakhosi received early in the first half.
“Most of the changes that we did were not planned,” he admitted.
“They were by necessity because of the circumstances of the game, the red card in the first five minutes.
“Then you need to put [Dillan] Solomons as a right-back. Then after we changed our set-up going into the back five when we introduced TT [Thatoyaone Ditlhokwe] and [Samkelo] Zwane in the midfield and at the end [Christian] Saile because we wanted to block the width and block the centre of the field because we noticed that they had height in attacking.
“There were a lot of crosses, a lot of long balls. We needed to put people that can deal with that and those changes we believe that they helped us to get the three points.”
