Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says he’s excited about his first taste of the ‘biggest derby’ in Africa.
Nabi will be leading Chiefs for the first time in the Soweto Derby on Saturday against Orlando Pirates with Jose Riveiro in his sixth since his arrival at the club.
Nabi was part of the biggest rivalry in East Africa in the form of the Kariakoo Derby between Simba SC and Young Africans but he reckons this will be something special for himself and his technical team who are new arrivals.
“It’s true it’s my first derby in South Africa, I followed the previous ones from where I was, and the feeling and joy are incomparable, I’m happy to get a chance to be a part of this day, the players, technical staff is excited bout the game”
“It’s the history of the two clubs, the fans, the history of the city of Soweto, we understand the passion around this derby. I have been part of many derbies around Africa, but I consider this one the biggest in Africa right now.”
The two sides meet at FNB Stadium on Saturday at 15h30.
