Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi said it was important for his players to have team bonding session ahead of their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Chiefs take on the league leaders in Tshwane this weekend at the back of losing to their rivals SuperSport United 4-1 at FNB Stadium last week.
With morale suffering a blow, losing a game, they expected to continue their form into – a change of scenery after training was provided for the squad.
“Honestly, this is a big opportunity for [us] because [had] a very bad result in the last game and before the big game with Sundowns, we have Toyota offering the team this opportunity and team building days are very important,” Nabi said about the Toyota event on Tuesday after their training session at the Village.
“You saw the faces of the players here today, they are very, very happy and this action helped us so much before the game of Sundowns.”
While the staff and players enjoyed a day on the racetrack to let loose of their potential stress and anxiety after some challenging weeks mentally, Nabi opened up on the fixture, speaking to iDiski Times about their two previous meetings.

“The first game against Sundowns, we had a good performance as Chiefs, it was advertisement of what we can do, after that game, Sundowns and players respected us and you saw that how they changed in the second game,” Nabi said.
“The result was a big result for them [4-0], but I maintain we weren’t bad, we played the game within two days after arriving from another game in Durban and it was tough, the players didn’t recover completely.
“If you don’t recover properly before playing Sundowns, who respect this fixture – but now we go into our third game this season, it’s a new coach for Sundowns with another philosophy, he changed some things in Sundowns.
“But I do think they are now better than before, they have more balance, more efficient [going forward] and defensively [stronger]. It will be a tough game against maybe the best team in Africa – and we’re in the process of building a squad.
“But I love this big games, we want to prove ourselves, our players love measuring themselves against the best – we will always have a chance [to] win, like any team against any opponent in any other game.”
Chiefs travel to the sold out Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon with the game scheduled for 15h30.
