Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is not too worried about the injuries in his defence, making special mention of Edmilson Dove and Njabulo Blom who stuck it out and did well.
Chiefs have been without Rushwin Dortley for the majority of 2025 owing to a knee injury. The former Cape Town Spurs defender has since undergone a successful operation and is currently in rehabilitation.
Deputy captain Inacio Miguel also joined the casualty list two weeks ago after picking up an injury against TS Galaxy in Polokwane while Given Msimango, who was cover also missed Chiefs’ league match away at Chippa United this past weekend.
Nabi congratulated the players who played in the said positions against the Chilli Boys adding that he is expecting some of the injured players to return soon.
“I think I must say congratulations and thank you to the players that played today and [Edmilson] Dove and [Njabulo] Blom,” said Nabi.

“We were unlucky to get all our injuries in the same line, our line of defence but like I said the Kaizer Chiefs team we are a group. I think for the next week some players can be back, and each one is ready and ready to play for Kaizer Chiefs.
“We know that we are unlucky with the situation of injuries, but I think we have a good group and like I said congratulations and thank you to the players they deserve to play for Kaizer Chiefs, and I think they made a very nice game today.”
