Nabi Provides Injury Update Ahead Of Nedbank Cup Final

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed three definite absentees for their Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Inacio Miguel and Thabo Cele were notably left on the bench in their 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium which extended their run to seven games without a win in the league.

But with one game separating Chiefs and ending their decade-long wait for silverware, both are expected to return to the starting line-up as two crucial players in Nabi’s tactical system.

Bradley Cross received a red card and is automatically suspended for the domestic cup final, while Wandile Duba returns to action after sitting out this past weekend’s derby after his accumulation of four yellow cards this campaign.

“Cross will be suspended of course, but Duba is coming back from his suspension, this week we’re going to try to see, but we’re optimistic about Thabo Cele and Inacio Miguel,” Nabi said ahead of the game.

“Other than that – the other players with long term injuries are still on the sidelines, like Given [Msimango], Reeve [Frosler], Rushwin Dortley, they will not be available.”

Chiefs take on their fierce rivals at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (15h30).
