Nabi Targets Victory For The Fans

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi believes they have learnt their lesson after their loss to Polokwane City, and are prepared for TS Galaxy this afternoon.

Galaxy host Chiefs this afternoon in the day’s only Betway Premiership fixture.

Speaking to the club’s website, the Tunisian coach said they have learnt their lessons, and are prepared to face a Galaxy team who have started turning their own fortunes around.

He says that he wants to give the supporters something to cheer about it, and a victory would be ideal.

“It is true that the last game was a disappointment, mostly in terms of our set-up,” Nabi told the club’s website.

“We knew we were going to play against a defensive team that plays very deep and that we would have to control the game, but we didn’t move the ball quickly enough to create spaces and make openings by running off the ball, nor were we clinical when we had opportunities to score, especially in the second half.

“We allowed them to counter-attack even though we knew that was how they played.

“However, we believe we have learnt our lesson. The whole week we have been addressing these issues and emphasising the importance of total commitment from the first whistle to the end, and be more clinical in front of goal.

“We are playing a very good team that is on a good run of three games without defeat. We are aware that historically we have had a tough time against these opponents.

“But, we are prepared, both physically and mentally, to go out and get the result we want. We expect them to have the same intention so nobody is taking this game lightly. We have to show our character and confidence, and we want to give our amazing fans, who are always behind us, a victory to celebrate.

“We have a few injuries but that is why a top team needs to have a big squad of quality players. We have full faith in the players that are ready to step in and perform at a high level.

“We believe the collective togetherness within the squad will help the team no matter which players are in the line-up.”
