Kaizer Chiefs had coach has insisted his team’s mentality was not in the right space against Chippa United, and that they didn’t deserve more than a point from the match.
Amakhosi and the Chilli Boys shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday evening, which left them in eighth place but just one point above the home side.
The draw extended Chiefs’ five-match winless run in the league and came somewhat surprising after Chiefs’ 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup last weekend.
Nabi insisted his team’s mentality wasn’t right and in stark contrast to their win over Masandawana.
“I think it was a very tough game, to be honest with you we don’t deserve to win this game,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“To win this game you must win challenges, you must be ready for every challenge, you must be number one for every ball.
“I think mentally we were not ready for this game. To win this game you have to be more than 100% ready to fight.
“Today, if I win it’s not correct.
“I need another mentality. I think today, all the team were [somewhat] out, out of the normal performance.”
