Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi attributed his changes against AmaZulu to fatigue, injuries and suspensions after they failed to pick up maximum points for the second game running at FNB Stadium.
After suffering a 1-0 defeat in the Soweto Derby at the weekend against rivals Orlando Pirates, the Tunisian mentor handed starts to all his three new signings with Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo both playing a hand in Richard Ofori’s costly blunders which saw the sides play to a pulsating 2-2 draw.
Nabi admitted after the match that despite their goal to target maximum points at home, their performance was affected by a few factors that forced him and his technical staff into making changes.
“The changes were due to the fatigue, two days after a very big game,” Nabi told the media.
“Demanding physically and mentally, and as well, even those changes we needed to have a competitive team but as well with a good balance to give us three points.

“The only thing we were thinking was to get a good performance, get three points today.
“As well, you know, there are some players that are – the GPS showed from the last game that they were a little bit in the red zones.
“Someone like Ox [Sibongiseni Mthethwa] even today after the game he had a little bit of a discomfort in his muscles due to the fatigue.
“And as well we have players that have been injured for quite some time.
“And as well [Njabulo] Blom was suspended today and George Matlou he was injured from last time and was not available today.”
Amakhosi have another tough assignment that awaits them as they travel to Cape Town to take on Stellenbosch FC on Friday, 7 February.
