Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says that he won’t change the team’s style just to get results, and it is key that a big club like Chiefs play attractive football.
Nabi was speaking after Chiefs 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City on Sunday, and reflecting on his first six months in charge at Naturena.
The coach said if he was worried about his job, he could play a different brand of football that might get results, but said that it is important to have Chiefs playing the right brand.
“It’s been six months, and we feel that regarding our game model, the team has changed, especially now in how they play,” Nabi said.
“It’s true that the inconsistency of the results doesn’t help.
“But if I were afraid for my spot or if I wanted that, I could play a mid-block, play defensive, look to counterattack with Ashley Du Preez, who is very fast, and getting results like that.
“But is it the DNA of this big club? No, we want this big club to play an attractive football. Attractive football means a lot of risk too, and we have to build on that, and we have to believe in that, and we are going to continue and improve every day.
