New Pirates Signing Touted For Major Impact

New Orlando Pirates winger Kamogelo Sebelebele has been tipped for a huge impact at the club by TS Galaxy Technical Director Nermin Bašić.

Sebelebele, 23, has been one of the standout players in the league with Galaxy over the past few seasons and it was no surprise to see him earn recognition in the senior national team before his off-season transfer to Pirates.

In what was a move to secure one of the most exciting talents in the league after the sale of Mohau Nkota to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, ‘Mike’ provides new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou with some interesting traits in more than just the right-wing role.

“Mike is an unbelievable player 1v1, you never know where and what he will do when dribbling, that’s why he will be top for Orlando Pirates, what’s important for me, is the next step from the player,” Basic said via the Bettor Podcast.

“Pirates, I saw in the last years how they have improved the youngsters, and they have made some big transfers, Mike deserves to be there, and they know how they will use him; he will make history.

“He is a different player [to Nkota] but Mike can play different positions, four positions, left-back, right-back, number 10, either wing – this is value, he has this value, it’s a bonus, so that’s why he feel he adds value to Pirates, they made a good choice.

“But congratulations to him, and all the guys who have worked with him, previous coaches, everyone involved.”

Sebelebele scored 10 goals with six assists in 98 games, with 50% of his starts coming as a right-winger within his professional career at the Rockets.
