New Signing Not Allowed To Face Pirates

Chippa United midfielder Siphelo Baloni, who is on loan from Orlando Pirates, has been left out of the squad as he is not allowed to face his parent club.

Baloni, 24, recently made a move to Chippa from Pirates on a season-long loan.

The former JDR Stars midfielder played just over 400 minutes at Pirates and won two trophies – MTN8 and Nedbank Cup after joining them ahead of 2023/24.

But due to a lack of game-time, he has been loaned to the Chilli Boys and he was unveiled two days ago during the launch of their new kit.

Information gathered by this publication states that Baloni is not part of the Chippa squad that will face Pirates this evening, as he is not allowed to play against them which was part of the agreement.

Pirates loaned Goodman Mosele to Chippa last season, and he came back to haunt them when he scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

This is not new in South African football, as players such as Tshegofatso Mabaso and Bongani Sam were also not allowed to play against Pirates during their loan spell at Moroka Swallows.
