Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Katlego Tsiki Ntsabeleng says he needs numbers to his performances after breaking into the team in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old has impressed in recent cameos afforded by head coach Miguel Cardoso and raising his hand for more minutes in a heavily congested schedule where they face ORBIT College and Marumo Gallants between their two-legged CAF Champions League quarter-final against Stade Malien.
He’s netted one goal so far in his seven appearances, which came in the 5-0 thumping of Remo Stars in Nigeria, in the second preliminary round of the Champions League.
“I think there’s been some good solid performances, it’s just a matter on the stats sheets, getting a goal, getting assists, helping the team climb on top of the log and open the gap as much as possible, so we can also do well in the Champions League,” he said.
“As players we have to be professional, try to recover as much as possible, do whatever we can to ensure we’re in the best shape possible for the game so we can be sure to perform at a high level.”
Sundowns take on ORBIT tonight at Olympia Park before the first leg against Stade Malien on Friday evening at Loftus Versfeld.
