Magesi FC head coach Owen Da Gama saw many positives in the team’s 2-1 loss to league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Magesi took the lead in the first half through Wonderboy Makhubu and had a great chance to double the lead just before halftime when Malibongwe Khoza made a mistake at the back, but Denis Onyango came to rescue.

Early second-half goals brought Sundowns back into the game, which they won in the 86th minute when substitute Tashreeq Matthews scored the winner at Elvis Chipezeze’s near post.
ODG was impressed with the first-half performance but felt that they defended too deep which allowed Sundowns to create better goal-scoring opportunities.

“The positives we take is that we created the opportunities to score against one of the best clubs in South Africa,” ODG told the media.
“We took control of the first half; I think we were unbelievable in the first half unfortunately second half that’s where for some reason or other we just started defending deep.
“Against TS Galaxy I think they couldn’t come out in their half, against AmaZulu there was nothing special, but I thought the performance today was the best performance apart from the second half when we started dropping.”
