Kaizer Chiefs have secured the signing of defender Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs, the Motsepe Foundation club has announced.
Dortley, 22, has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents in the country since breaking into the Spurs first team back in 2020.
With over 100 first-team appearances in the top two tiers of South African football, Dortley has established himself as an experienced campaigner despite his young age.
The likes of SuperSport United and Stellenbosch FC made approaches to Spurs for the defender who captained the South Africa national team at the recent Cosafa Cup.
However, Chiefs have managed to swoop in to win the race for his services, for the player who attracted interest from Major League Soccer, Israel and Denmark over the past few months.
Dortley now bolsters Chiefs defence as a natural left-footed centre-back that adds competition to Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and national team level, having caught the eye of Hugo Broos in recent months.
It undoubtedly marks a major coup for Amakhosi as one of the most promising defensive talents in Africa.
