Chippa United head coach Luc Eymael has made a sensational return to Mzansi as the successor to Sinethemba Badela and is in the dugout for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates.
Badela was in charge of two league games before assistant coach Musa Nyatama led their fixture against TS Galaxy – where they were thumped 4-1 at home.
Badela, Nyatama, goalkeeper coach Thembalethu Moses, analyst Prinil Deen and Nyatama have now all been fired with Eymael taking over the reins at the Gqeberha-based outfit.
It marks a dramatic turn of events for the club who were ushered into a new era with the appointment of Sinesipho Mali, with a youthful coaching set-up.
However, the working relationship amongst the technical team and Mali was said to have soured quickly, leading to the early split and making the decision to lure Eymael back to Mzansi.
He arrives after a stint in DR Congo with Saint-Éloi Lupopo and previously worked in South Africa with Polokwane City and Free State Stars – where he won the 2018 Nedbank Cup title with the latter.
