Orlando Pirates have confirmed midfielder Miguel Timm will leave the club along with the retirement of captain Innocent Maela as their contracts expire.

Timm, 33, joined the club three seasons ago after winning the Nedbank Cup title with Marumo Gallants and formed a key part of the rebuild under Jose Riveiro as they won five domestic trophies during his tenure.

Meanwhile Maela is set to be moved into a non-playing role within the club at the age of 32, after also falling down the pecking order this campaign, but left the field for the final time on Wednesday with an iconic reception from the Buccaneers faithful.

He leaves with 208 games to his name and six domestic trophies as a legendary figure who rose from the development and into the first team set-up as captain, between stints at Witbank Spurs and Thanda Royal Zulu.
