Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa says they will stay strong and look to bring the CAF Champions League trophy home from Cairo this week.
Sundowns are en route to Egypt for the second leg of the Champions League final, with a 1-1 scoreline from Loftus Versfeld, where Costa netted the opening goal.
But they face a challenging task due to Pyramids having an away goal, which was a real kick in the teeth for Masandawana conceding in the 94th minute.
“I am very with the team, we fought together, I’m very to have scored but the job is not finished, we’re going to Egypt, finish the chances that side, I’m very happy but it’s very difficult, especially in the last minutes [conceding],” Ribeiro said.
“But this is football, so the message is to stay strong, we go that side and play very well. It’s a difficult game, all games in the Champions League is difficult, tactically, there’s less space to play. But it’s okay – we stay strong, go to Cairo and become Champions.”
Costa has scored 20 goals with 13 assists in 47 games for Sundowns this season across all competitions.
