Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the transfer of youngster Faiz Abrahams’ season-long loan move to Kaizer Chiefs with an option to buy.
The 21-year-old was part of the U20 South Africa national team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in 2025.
Abrahams hails from the iKamva Academy where he has also featured for Cape Town Spurs’ senior side before making the move to the Cape Winelands outfit.
Last season he spent his loan stint at Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba and had strongly been linked with Durban City though they failed to agree on personal terms, while a switch to Orlando Pirates fell through.
Stellies have since wished the youngster well on his new journey as he looks to make a mark at the Glamour Boys during the current campaign.
“Faiz Abrahams has completed a move to Kaizer Chiefs on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 campaign,” the club said.
“In terms of the loan agreement, Kaizer Chiefs retain the option to purchase Abrahams’ services outright at the end of the season.
“The 21-year-old joined Stellenbosch in 2024 and has made five senior appearances for the Club to date, either side of a loan spell with Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba.
“We wish Faiz all the best in his future endeavours.”
Abrahams becomes the third player from Stellies to join the Naturena-based outfit this season following the arrivals of Langelihle Phili and Thabo Moloisane.
