Pedro Dias has shared a heartfelt farewell message following the end of his three-year tenure as AmaZulu FC‘s Director of Football.

The Portuguese-born administrator joined the KwaZulu-Natal club in October 2023 to oversee the football department and strengthen the pathway between the development structures and the senior team.

He arrived after the 2023/24 season had already begun, and AmaZulu finished 11th in the league that campaign before improving to sixth place in the 2024/25 season and fourth this past season.

Dias admitted it has not been easy to come to terms with his departure after nearly three seasons at the club.

He thanked the club’s management for their support, saying he leaves knowing that he and his former colleagues built a strong foundation for the future.

Dias added that the club has everything in place to continue its growth.

“After almost 3 seasons serving as Director of Football, the time has come for me to wrap up and fly further. This wasn’t an easy outcome to process; however, I leave with immense pride, gratitude, and love for this club,” Dias wrote.

“Thank you to our players – your commitment, growth, and resilience on and off the pitch have been my biggest motivation. Watching you wear the badge with honour was a privilege I’ll never forget.

“Thank you to the coaches and technical staff – your professionalism, late nights, and belief in our vision made the hard work worthwhile. We built something together.

“Thank you to the President Mr Zungu, to the CEO Sinenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli, Mfundo Zungu, and all the board members, management, and dear colleagues – for trusting me, backing tough decisions, and putting the club first, always.

“Thank you to the supporters and community – you are the heartbeat of USUTHU.

“Your chants, enthusiasm, criticism, and unwavering loyalty remind us of what love of the game is all about.

“I’m proud of what we’ve built together, establishing numerous projects which l believe will continue even in my absence to improve the structure. None of this would have happened without everyone pulling in the same direction.

“Looking ahead, I leave knowing the foundations are strong. USUTHU has the people, talent, and values to keep growing. I’ll remain USUTHU’s supporter from the stands.

“This isn’t goodbye to football or to this beautiful Zulu community – just to this role. Thank you for letting me serve a club that means so much to me and to the Zulu nation. Till we meet again on the other side of the bench, and with the utmost gratitude and pride.”
