Orlando Pirates have officially unveiled the four clubs they will face during their upcoming pre-season tour of Spain, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Buccaneers, who look set to announce Rulani Mokwena as their new head coach, are set to jet off to Europe in early July for a high-intensity pre-season camp and test themselves against quality international opposition. The club has secured a challenging lineup of fixtures that will see them face teams from England, Cyprus, and Spain.
Pirates will open their European tour on 11 July with a clash against Bolton Wanderers, the English club with a proud heritage and a history of producing physical, competitive football. Just two days later, on 13 July, the Soweto giants will test themselves against Pafos FC, a rising force in Cypriot football known for their technical and disciplined style.
The intensity ramps up in the following week, as Pirates prepare to meet two La Liga outfits. On 17 July, they face UD Las Palmas, who recently made their return to Spain’s top flight and the camp concludes with a fixture on 19 July against Granada CF, another Spanish side known for their combative edge and homegrown talent.
