Pirates who have not been as close to the Betway Premiership tile as this in the last six years have an opportunity to win the prestigious league title.
The Buccaneers are in a good run of form where they’ve gone eight matches without a loss, drawn two, and won eight matches. They are currently leading the league table by one point after collecting 58 points in 25 matches.
This free-scoring Pirates are expected to go for three points again to open the gap at the top to four points, as Mamelodi Sundowns will only play after this game in a sold-out affair against Richards Bay.
No team in the league this season has scored more goals than the Pirates with 50 goals. Also, they’ve had the most solid defence and have only conceded 11 goals.
The Sea Robbers, who won the reverse fixture 3-0, have enjoyed this fixture in the last 10 league matches, winning six and losing four – there hasn’t been a goalless draw.
