Polokwane City and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting lineups for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership encounter at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Rise and Shine have a chance to move third in the league table should they beat Sundowns this afternoon. The Polokwane-based outfit haven’t won an official match since September 2024 when they beat Magsei FC 2-0 in the Limpopo derby.
Three months ago, City were eliminated by Sundowns in the MTN8 quarterfinal after an own goal from Thabang Matuludi deep in extra time.
Sundowns on the other hand will look to keep up with the high-flying Orlando Pirates who have won all their five league games.
The defending Betway Premiership champions are on a run of seven consecutive wins in all competitions and haven’t tasted defeat since their exit in the MTN8 at the hands of Stellenbosch FC.
Since losing an official match against City back in June 2018 when they lost 3-2, Sundowns have enjoyed five wins and one draw after that.
