Milford FC head coach Dr Xanti Pupuma is confident that the side will be able to keep majority of their players following their promotion to the Betway Premiership.

The Black Stallions came from a goal down to hold Magesi FC 1-1 in the final match of the PSL promotion playoffs in Seshego over a week ago to reach the Promised Land and also condemn the Limpopo side to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Most Milford players raised their hands in regular season, the playoffs and also the Nedbank Cup where they reached the semi-finals.

Pupuma told the media he is not losing sleeping over keeping the players as most grew up in the team however admitted that if clubs with a bigger financially muscle come, he will consider those offers.

“Most of the boys they grew up in the team. So, its 99% that most are going to stick around,” Pupuma answered iDiski Times when asked about maintaining the squad.

“We just have to work out the proper packages for them unless I mean if [Mamelodi] Sundowns comes and looks for someone or [Orlando] Pirates and so on and they will talk to me and if it’s the right deal for them then it’s fine.

“Otherwise, if it’s anybody else that we can compete with financially we are probably going to just try and see.”
