Ramovic Explains Shock Resignation

Former TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has explained why he took the shock decision to resign from his post with immediate effect.

The Serbian tactician announced his position on live tv after his team’s 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday, but he did inform his players before the match.

He had informed Tim Sukazi of his resignation before the match and the TS Galaxy chairman did accept it, with Ramovic citing the constant changes at the club as well as the desire to spend more time with his parents as the main reasons.

“I think when I came, everybody knows this team was on the bottom. It was a lot of mess, let me say it this way,” he said when asked by iDiski Times about his decision.

“But we had, after I arrived, with my whole staff, I think we had a beautiful three years. It was a lot of beautiful memories, a lot of beautiful victories, a lot of beautiful games we played.

“And we sold 12 players to the best teams in our league. I think if I’m not mistaken the club got around, more than R40 million for these players in the last two seasons, it’s just amazing.

“And I also would like here again to say a big thank you to my chairman friend, he gave me this opportunity, and I hope I paid back to him everything, because when you see now the club is just one of the most beautiful clubs in our league, and if we just have a little bit luck that we can get a sponsor, the club will rise even more because we have a chairman that is very, very intelligent.

“He knows exactly what he wants, and he has a vision and a dream. I wish him that every dream comes true.

“For myself to meet so many beautiful people in South Africa, to spend three years in these beautiful country, I cannot be more proud and to be the coach for so many top players that we improved.

“We started not so well, but I think after three years, because me as a coach, I also change. Now I also improved, because we have in our league so many beautiful, great coaches that I could also learn and I can also improve. And hopefully somebody could also learn something from me. I hope so. If not, then I apologise, but I tried my best.

“In the end, I would like to win something, and if you sell every year, half of your team and to start from the scratch again is not that easy, because it takes a lot of energy, but I just go now the other way and try to wait for the right offer, right club, and if this kind of right offer comes out, I will try my best, and I can just say Alhamdulillah, then if this right offer doesn’t come out, I also say Alhamdulillah, because I had a beautiful three years here, so it just a beautiful time.

“And I would like to spend more with my parents, because they are older. They came with me when, when I arrived, but they spent only eight months. Now, they are back. They cannot fly so much, and my father is 76 and you never know how much time you can see my forefathers.

“So it’s time to spend time with them, and then it’s time to see them and and we are happy. My kids, they’re also happy to see the grandfather. So it’s time, okay,” an emotional Ramovic concluded.
