Mamelodi Sundowns striker Arthur Sales made mention of Ganso & Neymar Jr as his idols while the likes of Denis Onyango, Lucas Ribeiro and Marcello Allende helped him settle at Chloorkop.
Sales joined Sundowns at the beginning of the season from Belgian outfit Lommel SK, where he spent three seasons with the club, and had a 23-goal contribution in 50 matches for the club.
Having played for different clubs, including Pacos de Ferreira from Portugal and Bahia from Brazil, Sales come with a lot of expectations as a striker, but is yet to hit the ground running managing just two assists with no goals in eight outings since arriving in Mzansi.
The 22-year-old is thankful for the warm welcome to all Sundowns players and is looking forward to building a strong relationship with the players.
“I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received. Players like Denis Onyango, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Marcelo Allende, and several others are just fantastic,” Sales said in the Sundowns Magazine.
“They have made it easier for newcomers like me to settle in. I look forward to building strong relationships both on and off the pitch, as I believe that unity is key to our success.
“I look up to players like Ganso and Neymar. Their skill, creativity and ability to influence games inspire me.
