Fawaaz Basadien was named the club’s Player of the Season, as Stellenbosch FC hosted their annual awards gala at the Allée Bleue Wine Estate on Tuesday evening.
The club, currently third, hosted the awards before their final Betway Premiership game of the season on Saturday against Cape Town City.
It has been another good season for the club, and while they didn’t win silverware, they did reach the MTN8 final, and had their debut season in continental football, reaching the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Fawaaz Basadien, who scored seven goals and assisted eight more in all competitions, was named the club’s Player of the Season, while Ibraheem Jabaar won the Young Player of the Season.
Basadien was also named Players’ Player of the Season.
