Mamelodi Sundowns have exercised the option in the contract of Zimbabwe international defender Divine Lunga till June 2026.
Lunga has had an up and down career at the Betway Premiership champions due to injuries but has simultaneously showed up and represented the Sundowns badge with distinction.
The 30-year-old made 16 appearances this season in all competitions and played a major role in the CAF Champions League featuring nine timnes.
The former Golden Arrows defender has been crucial in the Warriors national team as he helped the side qualify for the 2025 AFCON in December.
Information gathered by this publication states that Sundowns exercised the option they had in Lunga’s contract. He is expected to be with the club until June 2026 with his focus now firmly on the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA next month.
