Sundowns To Resume DStv Prem Without Bafana Stars?

Mamelodi Sundowns could be without their 10 players for next week’s DStv Premiership fixture against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

The DStv Premiership will make its return next week with Sundowns due to face Arrows on Wednesday. Downs are likely face the KwaZulu Natal-based side without their key players on Wednesday since Bafana Bafana are expected to only arrive back in South Africa in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

SAFA have confirmed the team will leave Ivory Coast on Tuesday evening, and will land in South Africa at 4am on Wednesday.

It also remains unclear if the 10 Sundowns players will be ready for selection when they face Pirates on Saturday evening at Loftus Versfeld stadium or if they will be given time to rest by the club.

Ronwen Williams, Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, Khuliso Mudau, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Maseko, Terrence Mashego and Thapelo Morena are all Sundowns players that they could miss in the first two matches.

This will also affect Pirates, who will miss Evidence Makgopa, Thabang Monare, Zakhele Lepasa and Nkosinathi Sibisi when they face Chippa United at Orlando Stadium. This will also affect SuperSport United who have two players, and Stellenbosch, Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City each have one player.
