SuperSport Announce Two Signings

SuperSport United, who are currently in Durban on a preseason camp, have announced two more signings ahead of the 2023/2024 DStv Premiership.

Gavin Hunt’s team, who finished third in the last campaign, confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi had rejoined the club, as has Tanzanian international defender, Abdurazak Hamza.

Arubi joins from Marumo Gallants where he had captained the team for the past two seasons.

The 37-year-old had previously spent a season at the club in 2018/2019, as a backup to Ronwen Williams.

“Coming back home is one of the best decisions I have made in my football career,” Arubi told the club’s media department

I still believe I have what it takes to compete at the highest level and I’m happy to be back home and looking forward to a great season.”

The 20-year-old Hamza has played for a number of clubs in his home nation, most recently Mbeya City Council FC, but also at Namungo, Kinondoni Municipal Council FC and Azam.

“”I am very excited to join the club,” Hamza was quoted as saying.

“I feel like this is a huge opportunity for me to prove myself. I am looking forward to work with everyone here and to grow as a professional footballer.”
