SuperSport Suffer Major Blow

SuperSport United have suffered a major blow after midfielder Grant Margeman tore his ACL in a friendly match against Kaizer Chiefs.

Margeman has been a pillar of Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport side since joining the club permanently from Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning of last season.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder collected a few “Man Of The Match” awards last campaign and earned himself a call-up to Hugo Broos’ preliminary 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

He was in the Bafana squad that faced Namibia and DRC in December 2023 but got cut from the final AFCON selection.

The 26-year-old played 37 games across all competitions and scored one goal, which came in a 2-1 win over Stellenbosch FC.

The former Cape Town Spurs midfielder shared a photo on his socials after completing his surgery, and according to the information gathered by this website Margeman will miss almost the whole 2024/25 season.

He will now start his rehabilitation on a long way to recovery.
