Influential midfielder Jayden Adams will sit out Mamelodi Sundowns‘ Betway Premiership clash away to ORBIT College on Tuesday through suspension.
Sundowns travel to Rustenburg for the fixture they sought the have postponed this week due to their first leg CAF Champions League quarter-final clash against Stade Malien on Friday.
However, their opposition refused to accommodate their request and a rotated side is now expected to take on the relegation-threatened side as they look to continue their title challenge against Orlando Pirates, currently separated by one goal in favour of the Buccaneers.
Adams is serving the first of his two-match suspension after receiving a straight red card in their 2-1 win over Golden Arrows last week at Loftus Versfeld, which comes as a blow after his incredible resurgence of form alongside the ever-present Teboho Mokoena in midfield.
Head coach Miguel Cardoso is expected to call upon Marcelo Allende, who’s been on the bench in recent weeks, while Sphelele Mkhulise could also have a look in for the upcoming clash.
Sundowns beat the Mswenko Boys 2-0 in the reverse fixture in Tshwane that took place on 19 January with Arthur Sales and Brayan Leon scoring the goals, which was part of their impressive six-game winning run in the league at present.
Meanwhile ORBIT have one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five games – but will be buoyed after an impressive 2-1 win over TS Galaxy in their last league outing.
Kick-off is scheduled to take place at 19h30 tomorrow evening.
