Teenage Nkota Fires Pirates Top Of The Table

Orlando Pirates teenager Mohau Nkota announced himself in spectacular fashion scoring twice as they moved top of the league with the 2-1 win over AmaZulu at Orlando Stadium on Friday evening.

Nkota, 19, was backed with his second consecutive start in the league after impressing during cameo appearances against Richards Bay and Magesi as a substitute.

And he repaid the faith of Jose Riveiro who has been eluding to the fact of his impressive training displays of late, over the past couple of weeks.

The first was a stunner from outside the area as he cut on his favoured left foot to smash the ball into the top right corner of a flailing, experienced, Richard Ofori.

Six minutes later he doubled the advantage of the home side against an Usuthu side who were up for the fight after three defeats from their opening three league outings.

Hendrik Ekstein pulled one back in injury-time but it was a little to late to salvage something from the game.

It was the youngest player on the pitch that stood above the rest to move the Buccaneers back to the summit ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, while AmaZulu remain winless with four defeats on the trot.
