Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Katlego Ntsabeleng admits patience was required since arriving at the club on loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) side FC Dallas.
Tsiki returned to South Africa after seven years in the United States of America where he represented Chanticleers and Oregon State before earning the move to the MLS.
During his time in Mzansi, he had stints in the development with Stars of Africa, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, University of Johannesburg but never made his professional debut in the Premier Soccer League before this current season.
And he’s been made to bide his time under head coach Miguel Cardoso but has now started to earn more regular minutes after impressing in recent cameos from the bench.
“Since I came back life has really been great, I can’t really complain about much, I’ve been spending much needed time with my family, something that I missed throughout the years, but I think it also helped me stay patient in the team,” he said.
“It helped me, get along with the guys, get to know them and just reshuffle, be in South Africa and live the South African lifestyle. I think as you all know Mamelodi Sundowns is a big team, a lot of quality players and this is a big squad as well.
“So, everyone kind of has to wait for the opportunity and when it comes, grab it with both hands, so I think the biggest part has been patience and working hard while staying patient.”
Tsiki will be aiming to further raise his hand for more starts when Sundowns travel to Rustenburg to face ORBIT College at Olympia Park on Tuesday evening (19h30).
