iDiski TV analyst Benedict Tso Vilakazi was left disappointed after Orlando Pirates‘ shock 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership despite dominating possession at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Pirates enjoyed over 60% of the ball possession while creating the most chances but also missing them. They succumbed to BaBina Noko to stay in second place with 46 points, 12 points from runaway Mamelodi Sundowns who thrashed Richards Bay 3-0 to consolidate top spot.
Tso bemoaned the performance and the team selection while adding that Pirates were already thinking about the Soweto Derby coming UP this weekend.
“There’s two things in football, the one who needs it most, and the one who needs it,” said Tso on iDiski TV.
“That’s what happened between Sekhukhune and Orlando Pirates. Pirates were playing as if they were a team that wants to get into the top 8, not a team that wants to win the league. They really didn’t play like people who want to win the league. When you want to win the league number one, your line-up tells us you mean business. I don’t know why Makhehleni [Makhaula] was on the bench. Number two, I don’t know why he subbed [Thalente] Mbatha.
“And this thing of worrying about eggs that haven’t even been laid is a problem. You cannot worry about the derby while you are playing tonight.
“You’ve got three points that you need to focus on tonight then tomorrow that’s when you can think of the derby.”
