Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa reckons that they have been very unlucky with how results have panned out for the team in recent matches.

Despite starting the season at the top of the Betway Premiership standings, Amakhosi have since dropped as far as fourth place due to inconsistent results.

Fernando Da Cruz’s charges have picked up three wins but their three draws against Mamelodi Sundowns (1-1), Richards Bay (2-2) and Polokwane City (1-1) have seen them sit on 12 points after six matches.

Mtasingwa, who joined the Glamour Boys at the beginning of the season from Tanzanian outfit Azam FC, is hoping that they can turn their fortunes around when they travel to Mpumalanga to take on Golden Arrows at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.

“It is massively important to us as a team considering our recent results,” he told the Chiefs website.

“We always focus on the next game and are looking forward to it because we really want to boost our momentum with a win ahead of the FIFA international break that follows.

“Our game model is well structured. It’s just that we have been unlucky with results.

“We have a good spirit in the camp. We have had a full week to get ready, and we are feeling positive about the game this weekend.

“The venue can count in our favour because we always have a lot of our fans that turn out to support us, for which we are very grateful. Their support is a big motivator for us because we want to make them proud and happy.”
