Stellenbosch FC will begin their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign away from home after being forced to relocate their opening fixture against AmaZulu to Durban.
The Cape Winelands outfit had initially planned to host Usuthu in the Western Cape, but a lack of available stadiums has left the club with no choice but to move the encounter to KwaZulu-Natal.
Stellenbosch’s primary home venue, Danie Craven Stadium, is unavailable as it has been reserved for an international rugby tournament.
Meanwhile, Athlone Stadium has been occupied by New Zealand as the All Blacks continue their preparations for their rugby match against South Africa.
DHL Stadium was also not an option, with the iconic Cape Town venue scheduled to host the Currie Cup showdown between the DHL Stormers and Sharks.
iDiski Times has been informed that the match will take place at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
This is not the first time that Stellies take their home games to Durban, having hosted a couple of their CAF Confederation Cup matches there due to challenges in the Western Cape.
