Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has given insight as to what the Amakhosi are looking for in the January transfer window and also gave some insights into the club’s scouting.
The Glamour Boys had several players on trials in the build-up to the resumptions after signing the current top scorer of the DStv Premiership Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Edmilson Dove after trial periods in the beginning of the season.
The likes of Bradley Cross, Balint Bajner, Christian Saile Bambouli, Maurizio Macorig, Neymar Canhembe, and Stanley Ratifo were all invited to the Village for assessments in recent weeks.
However, it doesn’t seem like any of the trialists are still with the club. On Thursday, Zwane confirmed that Chiefs are still on the hunt to add quality players to their squad this month.
“We’re forever looking for good players as a club because we want to win silverware, we want to compete,” he told journalists.
“If we get good players, we’ll definitely go for them.
“Any good player that can come in that can add value, regardless of the position, any good player we’ll go for him.”
Zwane was also asked about the club’s scouting network on the continent and insisted the club have a team working hard on profiling potential targets.
“We’ve got a team that is doing that job, behind the scenes. They’ve done quite well so far,” he added.
“That’s why it is key for us to profile the players before they get here and also have a closer look at them in action and from there we’ll come up with a decision.
“That’s the approach we’ve decided to take as a club.”
