Zwane Opens Up On Relationship With Fans

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Samkelo Zwane has described his relationship with the club fan base as good saying he knows they always mean well.

The 23 year old has been one of the fan favourites since his promotion from the development side but hasn’t really lived up to his potential. This season he hasn’t enjoyed a lot of game time only featuring in 11 league matches and has received some criticism from fans.

Zwane told iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 199 of the newspaper that he receives the criticism well as it makes him better.

“My relationship with the supporters,” Zwane said to this publication. “I’m just grateful and appreciative of the support that they have shown me and the way that I play football.

“I also love them. Sometimes they’ll criticise me and it’s out of love, it’s not out of a place of hate. I think we have a good relationship.”

Zwane also admitted that there has been pressure on youngsters at Naturena however saying it’s the perks for playing Chiefs.

“I won’t lie, it’s not easy at all” added Zwane. “The pressure comes from all angles, left, right, everywhere we go.

“Look there is pressure but I think the most important thing is just to stay true to who you are and do what you know and what the coach wants. I think that’s the best way to overcome the pressure.”
