Doctor’s Damning HT Analysis Of Downs

Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo says Mamelodi Sundowns need to change their game plan if they want to get a result at Esperance Sportive de Tunis tonight.

Sundowns went into the break a goal down, with Yan Sasse scoring the opener for the hosts in the 40th minute.

The visitors also had the ball in the back of the net but it was rightfully ruled out due to offside.

With the away goal rule still intact in the CAF Champions League, Khumalo urged Rulani Mokwena’s side to be more attacking in the second half, and focus on both flanks.

“Possession doesn’t win you games,” he said on SABC Sport.

“Sundowns have themselves to blame because they don’t affect the game. They don’t hurt Esperance. They need to change the game plan.

“Firstly, their right-hand side is overloaded, Sundowns is not playing on the left-hand side. There is no penetration or any player on the left-hand side. They are all playing on the right side.

“Now, Lunga is nowhere to be found.”

Sundowns still have 135 minutes across first leg and second leg to turn the semi-final in their favour.
