Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and the University of Western Cape have avoided each other in this year’s edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League which will commence next month.
The draw, which was conducted on Friday afternoon at Complex Mohammed VI, Sale in Morocco, saw The Queens of the Continent pitted in Group B alongside Egyptian side Tutankhamun, Central Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) FC and Nigeria’s Edo Queens.

Sundowns qualified automatically by virtue of being defending champions and will be looking for their third title after winning it in 2021 and 2023. All the other sides in the group are making their first appearance at the event with the first game in the group being between Sundowns and Tutankhamun.

Meanwhile, debutants UWC have been handed a tough draw against 2022 champions ASFAR in Group A, fellow rookies Aigles de la Medina and TP Mazembe who are making their second appearance at the finals.
ASFAR and Medina will open the tournament on 9 November with the group stages scheduled to finish on 16 November.

The top two sides in the groups will advance to the semi-finals on 19 November with the final then being played on 23 November.
