Former Al Ahly star Magdy Abdelghany has questioned why Percy Tau didn’t start his side’s CAF Champions League clash with Orlando Pirates.
The Bafana Bafana winger, who has been absent from recent national team camps, only made a cameo off the bench in the second half at Orlando Stadium in Ahly’s goalless draw with the Buccaneers.

Tau, 30, has made 11 appearances for the Egyptian giants this season, but started only five games so far.
There are rumours that he has had a fallout with Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller, but the player himself has continuously dismissed those claims, while his contract runs out in June.
After the goalless draw, Abdalghany, who lifted over 15 trophies with the Red Devils, questioned Koller’s decision to bench Tau.
“Percy Tau is one of the fastest Al Ahly players, so why was he on the bench in the match against the South African [cup] champion?” Abdelghany said on MBC Masr, as per Goal.
“Percy Tau’s presence had an impact on Al Ahly’s formation and made a difference.”
Al Ahly, who have drawn three out of their last four games, now turn their attention to the FIFA Intercontinental Cup where they will face the winner between Botafogo and Pachuca on Saturday.
