iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has tipped Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi as a future club captain and reckons he deserves a spot in the Bafana Bafana squad.
After keeping the Mamelodi Sundowns attack, particularly Lucas Ribeiro, at bay in their Betway Premiership clash a fortnight ago, the 19-year-old put in another great shift in the Bucs defence after making his CAF Champions League debut against MC Alger on Tuesday night helping Pirates secure a 1-0 lead in the first leg of their quarter-final tie away in Algeria.
Khanye complimented the youngster’s skills and abilities, going on to say the South African junior international is also a future captain for the Buccaneers.
“I’d like to compliment this Mbokazi boy,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“I think he is a contender to be a national team player. For me he deserves to be given a chance because it’s easy to coach talent and he is talented. As a defender he is technically very good. He can deal with one-on-one situations. He is very composed and knows how to deal with a player.
“I mean when they assign him to defend someone, he does the job very easy. He was even able to mark [Lucas] Ribeiro [in the league]. This boy has leadership skills he is the future captain of Orlando Pirates for me.
“Well done to the boy.”
