Khanye Makes Bold Downs Claim After Ahly Draw

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye reckons it’s the end of the road for Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League following the goalless draw in the semi-final first leg clash with Al Ahly.

Sundowns may have dominated play at Loftus Versfeld Stadium but failed to register a single shot on target as the defending champions, who are aiming for sixth successive final appearance, played with a lot of defenders in this encounter but still managed to go forward and even had Nejc Gradisar’s goal ruled out for offside.

Ahead of the second leg in Cairo this coming weekend, Khanye said Marcel Koller’s side is technically sound and Gradisar will show more of his attacking abilities.

“I have said it before they [Sundowns] are not going to win the Champions League,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“This is the end of the road. They are going away and the team they are playing against is a different team. The Ahly that played in the group stage and this one are two different. Technically they are something else. You look at number11 [Nejc Gradisar] he has something special but can’t compare to number 22 [Emam Abdelghany] because 22 is something else.

“In front of his home crowd, I’m sure the coach though he will be cautious he will give him freedom to play and he’s going to want him to score. They are going to beat Sundowns away.”
