A menacing and tireless goal poacher, during his days at AS VITA and Young Africans, he was lured to the Egyptian giants in the peak of his career and he’s not disappointed with 39 goals and seven assists in 81 games across all competitions over the past two seasons.
While he admitted there was real interest from Kaizer Chiefs in the January window, Mayele said he was not focused on his future and still has one game left, the Egypt Cup final, as they take on Zamalek in a bid to retain their domestic cup competition.
He outscored Esperance Sportive de Tunis playmaker Youcef Belaïli, who scored seven in nine games, his teammate Ibrahim Adel, who scored six in eight and Relebohile Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates), Emam Ashour (Al Ahly) and Stephane Aziz Ki (Yanga), who netted five each.
