Mamelodi Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba says it will be nice to see Rulani Mokwena again, in a new team, but they are professionals and are heading to Algeria for three points.
Modiba was one of the main cogs of Mokwena’s system at Sundowns as they won the league twice and the African Football League, featuring in an inverted wing-back role.

While Mokwena has since went on to North Africa, with Wydad Athletic Club and now MC Alger – it will be the first time Sundowns face the former coach, who was a popular figure amongst the squad and supporters.
“You know we had a very good relationship with the coach and it will be a nice feeling to play against him because it’s never happened before,” Modiba said.
“Everyone is looking forward to the game, even us guys, we’ve been speaking about it, it’s going to be nice seeing him in different gear [at a new club] but we’re professionals, we have to do what we have to do – we have to make sure we win the game.
“We know how he plays; it’s going to be a tough game for us in Algeria, it’s never easy in North Africa – but yeah we have a team that is going to put up a fight, irrespective of who the coach is, but it’s going to be a nice feeling to see him again.”
The two sides face off on Friday evening in Algiers at the Ali La Pointe Stadium in Douera (19h00).
