Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi believes his side need to be aware of Stade d’Abidjan’s set-piece expertise in Saturday’s CAF Champions League clash.
The Buccaneers could take a massive step towards qualifying for the knockout stages, should they pick up three points at home against the Ivorian side.
Pirates currently sit in second place behind Al Ahly after picking up five points in their first three games, including a 1-1 draw in Ivory Coast.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Ncikazi insisted the Sea Robbers need to be better prepared for their opponents deadball situations.
“First game of the year, different competition but the expected outcome is the same,” he told the club’s media team.
“We’re just expected to win. It’s an opponent that is very unique on deadball situations, prolific. They scored against us, they scored against Ahly.
“We have to be aware of that and adapt quickly, but we want to continue in the competition with a brave and a confident performance.
“A confident performance will give us the required result and the required result is just three points.”
